Supporting children and young people to enjoy healthier, more sustainable snacks

Snack-tember is all about helping children and young people (aged 5–16) build the knowledge, skills, confidence, and motivation they need to make healthier, more sustainable snack choices.

The British Nutrition Foundation will share resources including information, activities, recipes, posters, and fun materials to encourage children and young people to reflect on their current snacking habits and discover new, better options.

Throughout September 2025, children and young people will be encouraged to:

  • Explore what makes a better snack

  • Try new snack ideas

  • Create their own healthy snacks

With a focus on snacks that include:

  • More vegetables and fruit

  • More wholegrains, beans, and pulses

  • Less saturated fat, salt, and sugars

Together, these changes can make snacking both healthier and more sustainable!
