Bear Inspired Mask and Zine Making Workshop

Join us in making a mask, get inspiration from the bears and what you see in Scunthorpe on your trail. The event is aimed at all the family.

Please note this workshop takes place at Scunthorpe Central Library

Take a walk around Scunthorpe this summer and you will be in for a big surprise; There are bears everywhere! Want to go on a bear hunt with us? Want to go in disguise? Then join us in making a mask, get inspiration from the bears and what you see in Scunthorpe on your trail. The event is aimed at all the family

Young children can use cut outs from magazines, bright coloured packaging and finger painting, while older children and adults may prefer to make something on the lines of a painted mask incorporating found materials. Older children and adults could take photos to remind themselves of their ideas they have liked and the younger children could take rubbings from objects they find on their travels around Scunthorpe, this could be things like leaves, twigs and paving stones, at the library help will be on hand to design and make your masks, using glue, paints and pencils provided.

In the afternoon meet us for your self-guided tour of the Bear Hunt Trail, we will supply you with a blank activity Zine to colour in or create a story around the bears you see on the trail. We will be walking along the high street. Catch us and we will take photos of you with the bears and your masks in our selfie frame.

Who are your artists:

Alice is an up-and-coming Lincolnshire photographer and embarking on a career in film, photography and cinematography. Ros is an established Lincolnshire artist and illustrator who works in digital, and traditional media including embroidery mainly for the Heritage Industry.

All Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult who must also reserve a ticket.
