Awareness days and events
National School Meals Week
National School Meals Week is a promotional activity designed to raise the awareness of great school food served daily by professional caterers in school across England and Wales.
For those pupils who regularly enjoy a hot, nutritious school lunch, the experience is about a lot more than just the meal on the plate. School caterers across the country aim to teach important life skills to students and give them tools and knowledge to grow up strong, healthy and have the energy to learn and thrive in the classroom.
In 2025, National School Meals Week will take place between 10th-14th November. LACA - the school food people have resources and information to support schools involvement - to access these, visit: National School Meals Week - National School Meals Week

Anti-Bullying Week
The Anti-Bullying Alliance are official organisers of Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Anti-Bullying Week 2025 will take place from Monday 10th - Friday 14th November, with the theme: Power for Good. The week will kick off with Odd Socks Day on Monday 10th, with adults and children being encouraged to wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.
The theme of Power for Good has come about following consultation with teachers and pupils by the Anti-Bullying Alliance which coordinates Anti-Bullying Week every year in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Teachers and children wanted a theme that empowered them to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.
Schools are able to download free teaching resources and themed assemblies. These focus on how we can actively use our Power for Good, and what we can do to stop bullying. The ABA will also develop a media, social media and community-based campaign to help bring Anti-Bullying Week to life whether you're at home, work or in school. Watch this space!

White Ribbon Day
White Ribbon Day, 25th November, is annually recognised as the day men show their year-long commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
The day inspires individuals and organisations to take positive action to challenge harmful cultures and behaviours that lead to violence against women and girls. White Ribbon Accredited and Supporter Organisations and White Ribbon Ambassadors and Champions are vital in driving this culture change.
Every year, White Ribbon UK works around a theme to raise awareness about men’s violence against women and girls and the need for men to be part of the solution as active allies.
Information and activities that schools can use to raise awareness of this topic can be found here: White Ribbon Day 2025 — White Ribbon UK
