Neurodiversity Celebration Week

16th-20th of March is Neurodiversity Celebration Week. It is a great opportunity for education staff to come together to recognise and celebrate the many different ways people think, learn and communicate. This years theme, From Awareness to Action: Making Organisational Change Happen, encourages schools to look beyond awareness and consider how deeper understanding of neurodiversity can lead to meaningful, sustained change across the whole community. Anna Freud have put together a toolkit that brings together practical resources and guidance to help strengthen inclusive practice throughout the year. Together, these ideas can support your setting to move from awareness to action and further develop a culture where everyone can thrive. World Book Day

World Book Day will take place on Thursday, 5th March. World Book Day inspires every child to enjoy the life-changing benefits of reading for fun. Is your school or setting doing anything to help promote World Book Day 2026? 

The World Book Day webpage provides educators with free age-appropriate school assemblies for children aged 5-11 and 11+. Also, The BBC will host a 30-minute live lesson that is linked to the curriculum for 7-11 year olds and the pupils will complete fun challenges and hear from some amazing authors as the BBC aim to celebrate the joy of reading for pleasure. International Day of Happiness

March 20th is the International Day of Happiness. This year’s theme explores the relationship between social media and happiness, highlighting the potential challenges for our wellbeing as well as ways we can all use tech for good. Supporting SEND students in every classroom - Webinar for educators

International Women's Day

On March 8th, International Women's Day will take place. International Women's Day provides an important opportunity for teachers, parents and caregivers to educate and inspire children and students about gender equality. From celebrating women's achievements to challenging gender stereotypes and bias, educating future generations about gender equality is one of the most grassroots differences anyone can make. There are many useful classroom resources available to support International Women's Day activity. Food Waste Action Week

Food Waste Action Week 2026 will take place March 9th till the 15th. In 2026, Food Waste Action Week’s theme is Make Your Food Go Further: for your pocket, for our planet. By preventing food waste, using up leftovers, and recycling anything that can’t be eaten, we can unlock more value from the food we already have by helping it to stretch further. 

On each day of Food Waste Action Week, Love Food Hate Waste will give out tips to make our food go further for:

  • Monday: For your money
  • Tuesday: For your time
  • Wednesday: For our planet
  • Thursday: For your health
  • Friday: For your headspace

Red Nose Day
