Following successful use by Brighton College Bangkok and St. Andrews International during staff INSET and meetings to start the year. Empathy Studios have made the decision to offer a free film and INSET activity to all schools. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a school subscription set up, you can access the 13+ version of Santwana’s Story for free until 4th September.

Use it across any of the following...

  • INSET and staff development days

  • Team-building sessions

  • Conversations around school values and culture

  • A shared activity between training sessions

  • Beginning-of-year reflection with your team

Check the description on the film too for a suggested 30 minute session structure too (though don’t be surprised if conversations can’t be stopped)!

Set in rural Nepal, the film follows Santwana as she begins her journey as a teacher. It offers a perspective on education that feels particularly relevant at the start of a school year: what education can give us, what it asks of us, and how culture, identity and self-expression shape the way we teach and learn.

A simple film. A room full of teachers. And quite possibly (definitely) a much better conversation than another presentation

Free for everyone until Friday 4 September.

Let us know how you get on!
