Activate generated almost 60,000 hours of active time among families last summer. Activate offers a go-to library of over 18 fun ‘movement breaks’ to help children stay active, entertained and off the sofa, at a time when kids’ physical activity levels fall.
New survey data shows that 88% of parents are worried their child will get too much sustained inactive time during the summer holidays. Meanwhile, nearly seven in ten (69%) parents also say their children are more active during term time because schools provide opportunities to be physically active, for example through PE, sports clubs or break times.
Backed by the Department of Health & Social Care, Activate aims to make it easier for children to get moving over the summer, by making fitness fun.
Co-created by Joe Wicks and Studio AKA, the team behind ‘Hey Duggee’, the series promotes short bursts of movement through fun, accessible content that can be easily integrated into your day, whether at home, school, summer clubs or on the go - getting children moving over the summer and beyond. There are now 18 episodes available for free.
