The Find the Fake campaign created by internet matters will launch on 10th September and run until 2nd October.
Online safety experts Internet Matters is encouraging families to ‘Find the Fake’. Find the Fake is a set of interactive quizzes designed for parents and children to complete together. Through fun and engaging challenges, families are encouraged to compete against each other to identify fake news, manipulated images, misleading headlines and other forms of mis and disinformation.
As well as some healthy parents vs children competition, the quizzes provide a safe and accessible way to start important conversations about what we see online and whether it can be trusted.
By working through real-world examples together, parents and children can build critical thinking skills, learn to question online content and develop the confidence to make more informed decisions about what they read, watch and share.
